i think i've received enough death threats for the photos i've uploaded on facebook and here on this blog to last me for about a year. it's time for a short break.
am having a bit of a trouble deciding which company to choose for my internship. the advice i always give people --"follow your heart"-- just doesn't seem to work. i think i'll need to go along with divine guidance, and much prayer.......for the times when people claim that i don't have a heart, which means that i don't have anything to follow. (i firmly believe they're just kidding.)
i was complaining to a friend that i'm having this 'dry spell', this lack of creative juice similar to writer's block for writers, only more colourful and juicy. i'm sorry i have no idea what i'm saying. just that i almost want to complain to some higher authority that the creatives don't have a term like 'writer's block' to give name to this dry spell syndrome. i can't think of any. but then i guess if we're copywriters we can share the term as well, right.
anyway, my friend said it's all in the intestines, these creative juices. i just need some laxative to flush it all out. you might squeal and protest, but i assure you, you will agree as well after you give it a minute of pondering.
(please don't take this literally)
i was thinking. when you think of the word 'empty space', what do you think of? how do you feel? you might feel excited, because of the many possibilities that you can do with this emptiness. it could be a blank paper, a plain canvas, a new roll of film, lots of memory space on your memory card. or you might feel a little scared, because you feel alone, abandoned in an empty room, left out of things, and hollow; you feel very small and don't know what to do. and then you'll feel sad. or you'll feel happy, because you're finally free to roam about, without inhibition, without anything to hold you back or obstruct your path. you think of a break from a long stretch of forest, a release from prison walls, an open field.
you must be thinking, i know ros, it's about perspective. but, my point is, it's much more than that. what do we understand about perspectives anyway? lots of things can influence that. it's about the workings behind this perspective that matter. you can't just tell people, "can't you see?" without trying to understand what they saw and why they saw that. they may be eager to start afresh, to kickstart something they've always dreamed of. or they may have just been rejected by their family for what they believed in, such that they are left alone in a big, big world. or, they are finally set free from worries and anxiety that bound them, circumstances that have finally found their way out of the tight knots.
if i make any sense, please raise your armpits.
(okay, actually, nevermind. haha)
ta. back to earth.
